A frequent chemistry quiz/exam question is to figure out what bond between atoms is the most or least polar. In this video we determine whether C-O, C-H, Br-Br, or S-Cl has the least polar bond.

When determining the polarity of bonds it is important to know the trend on the Periodic Table. Perhaps the easiest way to remember is that Fluorine (F) has the highest electronegativity value of all the elements. Going away from F in any direction leads you to less electronegative elements. Cesium (Cs) is often considered the least electronegative element.

The larger the difference in electronegativity between element, the more polar the bond. We can use that information to determine which bond (C-O, C-H, Br-Br, or S-Cl ) is more polar.
