'Dil Bechara' is a Hindi movie adapted from John Green's famous novel "The Fault in Our Stars" (2012).
The film based on this novel featured in Hollywood in 2014, and Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort performed the leading roles. The movie "The fault in Our Stars" moves around two cancer people who refuse to take any field seriously whereas 'Dil Bechara' deals with a romance of ill-fated lovers. Mukesh Chhabra is the director of this movie 'Dil Bechara', and the writers are Suprotim Sengupta and Shashank Khaitan. Farah Khan is the choreographer. Satyajit Pande is the cinematographer. Especially his shots in Paris and the leading pair's romance are really awesome. Amitabh Bhattacharya has written the song lyrics and the peppered foot-tapping music has composed by A R Rahman. Khulke Jeene Ka, Taare Ginn and the title track, Dil Bechara are the fantastic work of him. The leading stars of this movie are Sushant Singh Rajput, Sanjana Sanghi, Swastika Mukherjee, Saswata Chatterjee and Saif Ali Khan. The main plot of this movie Dil Bechara revolves around the two characters, Kizie Basu and Immanuel Rajkumar Junior, Manny. While Kizie has thyroid cancer, Manny had osteosarcoma. As thyroid cancer affects the lungs of Kizie, she requires oxygen support almost at all the time. The solid support of her parents leads her to take life as it comes, but she really longs for the life of a normal girl at her age. Her constant companion is her oxygen cylinder that is nicknamed as Pushpinder. She used to attend the unknown person funerals because to feel the connection of inevitability that buried in her. In such a situation, she meets Immanuel Rajkumar Junior, Manny in her college first and later at a cancer support group. Manny is an energetic and smart young man who worships the actor Rajinikanth all the time. He survives with osteosarcoma, and his cancer is currently in remission. He wants to enjoy every moment of the day. Kizie doesn't show much interest in the beginning. But, slowly, her heart turns towards Manny by his love on her. In the meantime, Manny's close friend Jagdish Pandey (Sahil Vaid) wants to direct a film before losing his eyesight to cancer. With the help of Manny and Kizie he shoots a Bhojpuri movie. Kizie has a strong passion for a musician, Abhimanyu Vaid (Saif Ali Khan) who is invisible at present and he also left her favourite song incomplete. Some curiosity awaits her to know the reason behind the unfinished song, and she wants to ask him to complete it. This feeling of her gets into shape when Manny finds Abhimanyu Vaid and his resistance in Paris to fulfil the dream of Kizie. After more struggles, with the help of Manny, Kizie convinces her parents and doctor and plans to go and meet Abhimanyu Vaid in Paris with Manny and her Mom. When they meet Abhimanyu Vaid in Paris, his attitude shocks her, and his words on life after the death of a loved one burst her emotions. But, she doesn't know that a tragic twist in the tale awaits her in a few days. Celebrating life using infectious energy after knowing the inevitability of it is the main message of this movie. Sushant Singh Rajput has given one more brilliant performance and his charm makes our hearts heavy. When we think this as a last act of Sushant Singh, it touches our heart and brings the feeling of missing his performance hereafter. His brilliant moves in the single title track, choreographed by Farah Khan is really mind-blowing. Sanjana Sanghi's confident, natural and engaging performance shakes the emotions. The supporting cast, especially Swastika Mukherjee and Saswata Chatterjee as Kizie's parents, are simply superb. Both of their depth performances as parents, especially when they worry what tomorrow might bring to their daughter bring tears in our eyes. Saif Ali Khan's act is also remarkable. The first part of the movie is moving fast, but it lags in the second half, a little bit. This movie has more emotional touches and this is the real strength of this movie. The film is available for free, as a tribute to the actor Sushant Singh. Millions of fans bid goodbye to their lovable actor Sushant Singh while watching this movie.
