Dr Sheila Kanani is a planetary physicist, science presenter, secondary school physics teacher and space comedian, with a background in astrophysics and astronomy research from UK universities.
Sheila is currently the Education, Outreach and Diversity Officer for the Royal Astronomical Society in London. In January 2018, she hosted BBC One’s Wonders of the Moon. She is the author of several books for young people. Brief description of session: In this whirlwind adventure to the furthest reaches of our Solar System and back, planetary scientist Sheila Kanani explores some magnificent, awe inspiring wonders of our local neighbourhood whilst celebrating the plethora of amazing careers available in the space industry, and she will explain what a profound effect space has had on her life.
