Terrifying 'Stargazer' Fish Spotted in Singapore | 10 News First |
|
A terrifying fish has been spotted by a group of naturalists and its enough to have you avoiding sand for a while.
The group, called The Untamed Paths, discovered a long nosed Stargazer on an Intertidal Exploration in Singapore. The creature buries itself in sand while waiting for unsuspecting prey. The googly-eyed fish have venomous spines and, occasionally, a worm-shaped lure growing out of their mouths that they can wiggle to catch prey. However folks down in Australia can breathe a slight sigh of relief - the ambush predators have only been found in the Southern Hemisphere once; a study published in 2024 documenting the first ever recorded specimens caught south of the equator, near Jakarta. #10NewsFirst #NewFearUnlocked #Singapore Subscribe to 10 News First to get the latest updates and breaking news: https://bit.ly/37DDbL1 Join the conversation and follow us on: Twitter: http://twitter.com/10NewsFirst Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/10NewsFirst/ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/10NewsFirst/ 10 News First airs at 5pm, seven nights a week in your local market on Network 10.
