It is the oldest international continental football competition. The current format involves twelve teams competing at venues in a host nation over a period of about a month. As CONMEBOL has only ten members, two other national teams from FIFA confederations are invited to fill the left spots; Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica and the United States have been regular invited over last years. Uruguay is the most successful team in the tournament, having won it fifteen times, followed by Argentina, 14, and Brazil, 8. Paraguay and Peru won it twice and Colombia and Bolivia have one title each. --- Follow us!
