As many of you know, I’m spending time right now to really get my homekit home smarter using the sensors I have. It’s taken me some time to really get this right, but I’m finally digging into the gift Apple has given us in iOS14 with the new Convert to Shortcuts automation functionality.

In this video, I go through three different types of automations that you can now create using a simple contact sensor in Apple HomeKit for something beyond where you might have tried already.

Hopefully this inspires some of you to push the limits in what Apple’s given us. Definitely post in the comments below if you have anything you’ve done that you think is creative, that you’re proud of, or you just want to share.
