The theory of plate tectonics unifies many different fields of Earth and even Biological Sciences. It explains the origins different geographic on land and the seafloor, it explains the reasons for earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunami, it explains, in part, climate change through geologic time, and it explains, in part, the evolution of life, including humans. Here I present some of the basic terms and concepts of this important theory.
