The secret of cooking tri-tip on the grill is the seasoning. You can easily use just salt and pepper, or you can use this delicious steak rub: Ingredients: 3 tablespoons kosher salt 3 tablespoons smoked paprika 2 tablespoons minced onion (or you can use onion powder( 2 tablespoons garlic powder 2 tablespoons dried oregano 2 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper 1 tablespoon light brown sugar 1 tablespoon ground cumin Mix all the ingredients together and put it on steak, burger, tri-tip or ribs. Grilling Tri-tip Heat a grill to Medium High heat. Place directly on the grill. Cook for 10 minutes on one side and flip. Cook for another 10 minutes or so or until your thermometer reads 130 degrees for medium rare, or up to 140 degrees. Let the meat rest about 10 minutes before cutting it up.
