Thanks to Her, the State of Black Women’s Golf Is Stronger Than Ever

video thumbnail
Revered pioneer Renee Powell is still paving the way for Black women and girls in golf to this very day, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Our Black History Month celebration continues, taking a look from the perspective of the Black female golfer. Mariah Stackhouse, Alexis Belton, Christyn Carr and Makenna Rodriguez share their unique perspective with host, Bradford Wilson, and show off some serious game in the process.

Before there was Mariah, Alexis, Christyn or Makenna, there was Renee - the LPGA Tour's second African American professional. After 250 starts from 1967 to 1980, Powell pivoted to a life dedicated to growing the game by introducing golf to people of all ages, races and abilities.
