He was born as George Ezra Barnett in Hertford, UK - his parents were both teachers. George moved to Bristol in 2011 to study songwriting at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. In 2013 he played the BBC Introducing Stage at the Glastonbery Festival. Later that year George Ezra released his debut EP 'Did You Hear The Rain?'. In 2014 he released his debut album 'Wanted On Voyage' which topped the UK album charts and has been certified 4x platinum in his homecountry. The album also reached Top 10 across Europe in countries such as Germany, Ireland and Austria plus it peaked at #4 in Canada and #19 in the USA and Canada. The single 'Budapest' peaked at #3 in the UK Single Charts as well as in the German Single Charts. It topped the charts in Austria and New Zealand and charted worldwide with peaks at #5 in Australia and #32 in the USA.

In 2018 he released his 2nd studio album 'Staying At Tamara's' which again topped the UK album charts and charted across the world in countries like Australia (#7), Germany (#10) or Canada (#22) and the USA (#68). It has been certified triple platinum in the UK. The single 'Shotgun' became his first #1 song in the UK and Australia and also topped the charts in New Zealand, Ireland and Belgium (Flanders).
