Crowdmaking – a new era of connectivity | Michela Magas | TEDxUmeå |
|
Our age has highlighted the benefits of collective intelligence – ideas of sharing and moderation prove to be more effective and more valuable than individual accumulation. The social revolution is not inherent in the digital medium, but transpires from new behaviours afforded through connectivity.
This kind of thinking gives us the freedom to create new intelligent products that are not just responding to us via touch-screen applications, but are able “talk to each other” via a common platform, and enable us to connect to each other through our products. This is at the core of the ideas of Crowdmaking – a new era of connectivity driven by content creators . Michela Magas is a visionary and innovator who brings together the worlds of science and art, design and technology, and academic research and industry. With a track record of 20 years of innovation she’s a double “art-meets-science” award winner, founder of the Music Tech Fest as well as co-founder and currently CEO of both Stromatolite Design Innovation Lab in London and Sonaris Systems in London and Barcelona, which have developed future concepts for a series of international clients including Apple, Nike and Nokia. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
