This recipe is the best fried chicken recipe you'll ever need to make the perfect fried wings and crispy fried chicken. It's crispy and flavorful like Popeyes fried chicken but better because it's a southern style recipe and homemade fried chicken is always better with this DIY recipe. The batter is a Popeyes copycat recipe and crispier than KFC chicken. Churches fried chicken is close if you can find a good store but this recipe is all you need. Use a cast iron pot if you have one, they hold the heat better and will keep the oil hotter when you drop the chicken in.

Recipe:
Spice mix
1tbs cayenne pepper
1tbs paprika
1tbs onion powder
1tbs granulated garlic powder
1tbs black pepper
1tbs Accent
1tsp salt
1tbs Cavenders seasoning

1st flour dredge
1 cup of AP flour
1/2 cup corn starch
1/2 tsp baking powder

wet batter
2 eggs
1 cup of club soda
1 cup AP flour
1tsp of spice mix
1tsp paprika

final dredge
3 cups AP flour
1/2 cup corn starch
2tsp spice mix

Season chicken with generous amount of spice mix and marinate at least 3 hours.
coat marinated chicken in first dry batter, shake off excess and dip into wet batter, shake off excess and into the final seasoned flour. Shake off excess flour and fry in 350 degree oil for 15 minutes flipping chicken over every 5 minutes. Wings fry for 12 minutes flipping over every 3-4 minutes.
