2019 Esri Ocean and Atmospheric Forum Technical Plenary. Jennifer Boehnert's amazing explanation of the NCAR Fire Modeling and Analysis process, describing the interoperability between atmospheric data and tools and GIS, and how that has opened the doors for interdisciplinary research that incorporates weather and climate phenomena. GIS is an excellent tool to conduct this research, but it also excels in disseminating the research and model results to stakeholders and the public. NCAR is working with the State of Colorado to model fire behavior in order to give greater situational awareness to the fire fighters in the field. In this presentation, Jennifer describes how they are using ESRI tools to publish real-time weather forecast and fire behavior output
