Sachin Tendulkar (118) and Navjot Singh Sidhu (101) scored excellent centuries, and guided India to a score of 305. It was the first time that an Indian side had crossed the 300-run mark in a limited overs international. Sidhu and Tendulkar also put on 231 runs off 240 balls for the second wicket, the highest partnership for India for all wickets at the time. It also was the second time that two players in the Indian side had scored a hundred in the same match. India went on to win the match by 28 runs and Sachin Tendulkar was awarded the man of the match. |
