2023 Cadillac Lyriq vs 2022 Tesla Model Y Comparison.

Cadillac's first entrant into the luxury electric vehicle market will be the Lyriq SUV, which offers sharp styling and a modern cabin. Cadillac says that both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive models will be offered, and that its new SUV will have a driving range of more than 300 miles. The Lyriq has been designed from the ground up and will ride on General Motors' new scalable battery architecture; the company claims a low center of gravity and a spacious cabin as benefits of the dedicated EV-architecture. The Lyriq should be on sale sometime in early 2022 as a 2023 model.

What's New for 2023?
Not only is Lyriq a brand-new nameplate for the American luxury brand, it's also Cadillac's first all-electric offering. When it goes on sale, it'll go head to head with heavy hitters such as the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X.

The Tesla Model Y tried to capitalize on the red-hot success of the Model 3, but the all-electric crossover is more fizzle than sizzle. Whereas the Model 3 nails its mission with a handling that dances and impressive range, the 2022 Model Y feels like a lazy effort to appeal to the SUV-buying public. Its handling is less engaging than the 3’s and its cabin—while largely carry-over from the sedan—doesn't do enough to differentiate itself, which serves only to magnify our criticism of both its fit-and-finish and the problems that the all-digital environment creates. It's not entirely without value, though. Its estimated driving range is good compared with rivals such as the Ford Mustang Mach E and the Volkswagen ID.4, and the Long Range trim promises up to 330 miles per charge. Plus, the Tesla is available with an optional third row of seats which is still rare in the world of EVs SUVs.

What's New for 2022?

The Standard Range entry-level model has been discontinued for 2022, making the Long Range the de facto base model. Estimated driving range for the Long Range is up this year, to 330 miles when equipped with the standard 19-inch wheels. Picking the more attractive 20 inchers drops range to a claimed 318 miles per charge.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq surges into the electric SUV market in the first half of 2022. With its recently refreshed lineup, Cadillac attempts to reestablish itself as a high-quality luxury brand. What we know about the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq

Besides the fact that it runs completely on electricity, here’s what we know about the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq. The Debut Edition will have estimated 300-plus miles of driving range on a single full charge. Cadillac estimates it will produce 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. The SUV is initially releasing with only rear-wheel drive, but the 2023 Lyriq Performance All-Wheel Drive Model will be available starting in early 2023. It has a 12-module, 100.4 kWh Ultium battery, and rear-wheel Ultium Drive Unit.
