Port Victoria is a fishing and farming community on the shore of Africa's largest body of water, Lake Victoria, located in Western Kenya. The town of 15,000 residents was chosen as the pilot location for a new mobile-based health insurance called Zuri Health. This new health cover is a partnership between The Busia County Ministry of Health, The National Hospital Insurance Fund, and AMPATH, a comprehensive healthcare delivery system based in Western Kenya. The Zuri launch was a great success that showed community support where hundreds of people were enrolled. - Zuri Health is a USAID sponsored program.
