Amidst the deteriorating situation in Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone on March 2. PM Modi discussed with Putin to rescue Indians trapped in Ukraine. After this, the Russian Defense Ministry has claimed that the Ukrainian army has taken Indian students present there hostage and is using them as human shields. Ukrainian army is preventing Indians from entering Russian territory.

यूक्रेन में बिगड़ते हालातों के बीच प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 2 मार्च को रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन से फोन पर बात की। पीएम मोदी ने यूक्रेन में फंसे भारतीयों को सुरक्षित निकालने के लिए पुतिन से चर्चा की। इसके बाद रूसी रक्षा मंत्रालय ने दावा किया है कि, यूक्रेनी सेना ने वहां मौजूद भारतीय छात्रों को बंधक बना लिया है और उन्हें मानव शील्ड के तौर पर प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। यूक्रेन की सेना भारतीयों को रूसी क्षेत्र में जाने से रोक रही है।
