To honor Native American Heritage Month, the November Preventive Medicine Grand Rounds features Captain Karen (Kari) Hearod, Director of the Office of Tribal Affairs and Strategic Alliances (OTASA) within CDC’s Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support (CSTLTS). She will describe how tribal public health is organized and how OTASA connects tribal nations and tribal-serving organizations to CDC and ATSDR programs, and provides funding for building and improving cross-cutting tribal public health infrastructure.
