𝐗𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 (formerly known as 𝐓𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲'𝐬 𝐗𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and published by Ubisoft. XDefiant is currently in development and is set to be released in the future on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
It features a variety of factions and classes, each with their own unique abilities and weapons. The game is set in a near-future version of the United States, where players engage in fast-paced, team-based multiplayer matches across a variety of maps and game modes. The setting of the game revolves around factions called "Defiant", Future Soldiers known as Phantoms (from 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧), Echelon Super Spies (from 𝐒𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐥), Pyro Technician Outcasts and Cleaners (from 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧). Libertad Freedom Fighters (from Far Cry) and Dedsec Cyber Attackers (from Watch Dogs). Defiants are customizable with traits, abilities, devices, weapons and items. It has 6-versus-6 linear game modes (such as "Domination" and "Escort"). The game has punk visual art elements.
