Generalized Anxiety Disorder (aka "GAD).
This is a common anxiety issue marked by a persistent state of unusually high anxiety that causes enough discomfort and distress to have a real impact on your life and lifestyle. People struggling with generalized anxiety disorder will report feeling generally anxious and agitated most of the time. While they might not fear the anxiety or experience full-on panic attacks, the anxious state can nonetheless become frustrating and somewhat debilitating. GAD often leaves the sufferer confused as to what to do about it and disheartened with repeated attempts to quell and manage anxiety fail to work on any consistent level. I was lucky enough to spend 30 minutes with Dr. David Carbonell. A clinical psychologist specializing in treating anxiety disorders, Dr. Carbonell is the author of “The Worry Trick” and three other books on anxiety and phobias. We had a most excellent talk about GAD, what it is, and how it’s treated. ---- For full show notes on this episode. https://theanxioustruth.com/119 Courses and workshops on anxiety and recovery: https://learn.theanxioustruth.com Books I've written on anxiety and recovery: https://theanxioustruth.com/books Music Credit: Afterglow by Ben Drake w/Permission https://bendrakemusic.com |
