Modern cavemen, the Coming World Transformation | Dr Itamar Sivan | TEDxIDCHerzliya

video thumbnail
Dr Sivan is a quantum physicist and a tech entrepreneur. He is a prominent figure in the global race towards harnessing quantum's power, one of the biggest technological revolutions our species has ever known. Combining a deep knowledge of quantum theory, and his position as CEO of a quantum computing startup, Itamar is determined to make useful quantum computers a reality.
The new millennium is going to be nothing like any other human civilization has ever seen. Technology will evolve to new horizons far beyond anything we can imagine today. The dawn of quantum computers is likely to be the number one driver for that and is no longer science fiction.
Predicting future technology awaiting us in the upcoming millennium and its influence on humankind is like expecting a caveman to have anticipated computers' emergence. It is practically impossible. Listen for a revolutionary discussion on the untapped potentials of technology.
Dr. Sivan is an entrepreneur; co-founder and ex-managing director of Weizmann Institute’s entrepreneurship program. He completed his Ph.D. in Prof. Moty Heiblum’s lab at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel working on quantum electronics and microfabrication; published works in peer-reviewed journals; received the John F. Kennedy Prize for academic excellence (2015) awarded yearly to
students from the Weizmann Institute of Science; completed BSc and MSc in physics at the Ecole Normale Supérieure. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
