Can Fallout: New Vegas 2 Actually Happen Now? |

Now that the Bethesda and Microsoft deal has closed it is time to revisit the topic of a potential New Vegas 2. This idea of a Fallout spinoff or remake by Obsidian has been constantly discussed and here I go over what may actually happen.

Currently working on an unannounced project • Although above could hypothetically be on the same projects o So Obsidian seemingly has 6 or so projects in the works between announced and unannounced stuff All we really know is this quote from Adam Brennecke: "Just like with Outer Worlds we have big RPGs being worked on right now. We have a lot of stuff being worked on right now." The thing is none of these could be Fallout. The team working on ToW DLC could hypothetically move onto Fallout starting now, but that team is quite small with a first time game director on it – not how you envision the Fallout IP going - So either Obsidian was already working on something Fallout before MSFT acquired Bethesda – which Todd Howard said was unlikely in 2018 with how much bigger Bethesda is – or a Fallout game from them would be far out o Likely Avowed is next in 2021 or 2022, then perhaps Project Missouri from Sawyer, perhaps The Outer Worlds 2 at some point and we get around to 2025 pretty quickly. o Obsidian has a very full plate and it seems like even if they were to work on something Fallout it would be a ways away o On hiring more people the studio head has said he likes keeping things smaller: only got slightly bigger post buyout and mentioned no plans to go above 200 employees, prefers focused games #Fallout #NewVegas2 #Bethesda |
