Antithyroid drugs:
Mild hyperthyroidism
Older age with limited life expectancy
Preparation for radioactive iodine or thyroidectomy
Pregnancy (PTU in 1st trimester)

Radioactive iodine:
Moderate to severe hyperthyroidism with/without mild ophthalmopathy
Patient preference in mild hyperthyroidism .

Thyroidectomy:
Very large goiter .
Suspicion of thyroid cancer
Coexisting primary hyperparathyroidism
Pregnant patients who cannot tolerate thionamides
Severe opthalmopathy
Retrosternal goiter with obstructive symptoms
