Spain is helping Turkey in the earthquake assistance effort, sending a series of amphibious vessels carrying support for the earthquake-stricken country.

A video handout by the Spanish Defence Ministry showed the amphibious vessel leaving a larger carrier ship off the coast of Turkey on Thursday.

The "Dédalo 23" amphibious group shipped a military ambulance, various humvees, a bulldozer and military truck toward the coast.

Marines are expected to take part in the coordination of logistical duties between local and foreign aid agencies.
