But R2 refused to show Luke any more recordings. The droid had never shown them before in order to spare him the searing pain of the past. However, R2’s resolve crumbled, and he revealed the heart-wrenching final conversations between Luke’s parents. But he also revealed something truly spine-chilling - footage captured by the Jedi Temple’s security systems of the sinister acts committed by Anakin Skywalker and the 501st Legion against the Jedi Order. But one event struck Luke to his core: his parent’s final moments together on Mustafar. Witnessing his father's aggression and the abandonment of an unconscious Padme in order to attack his former master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, left Luke utterly disturbed. |
