Georgia Public Television (1977)

video thumbnail
A variant of a similar logo that I discovered, this time from a September 1977 episode of "Down Home Georgia Music" produced with the Georgia Folklore Society. Apparently, after color TV stopped being special, GPTV decided to just use their "in color" ID as their regular logo. It sort of works.

I am unsure whether the company at this point should be classified as the "Georgia Educational Television Network" or "Georgia Public Television" because of the GPTV print logo used in the end credits. This could be a case of the print logo for the upcoming logo debuting before the animated logo does, which means that the next logo, which we thought debuted in 1970, actually premiered in the last couple of months of 1977 or in early 1978. Either way, the sad music still does not go with this logo.
