A catastrophic earthquake, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, has struck western Afghanistan, resulting in a tragic loss of over 2,000 lives, as verified by the Taliban government. This seismic event has left an additional 1,240 individuals injured and has caused significant damage to multiple villages. The earthquake's epicenter was located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Herat, a city known as Afghanistan's cultural hub.
