Mrs. Bush addresses the role of freedom advocates and announces a new polling project by the Bush Institute in collaboration with Freedom House and the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.
Grace Jo, a North Korean escapee, speaks about her experience living without freedom in one of the most oppressed countries in the world. The Spirit of Liberty: At Home, In the World, a national forum focused on freedom, free markets, and security. The event will include remarks by President George W. Bush, remarks by Mrs. Laura Bush, as well as a conversation on American leadership with United States Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, and United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. There will also be a panel discussion on domestic issues featuring: Jean Case, Chief Executive Officer, Case Foundation and Chairman of the National Geographic Society; Mel Martinez, Chairman of the Southeast & Latin America for JPMorgan Chase & Co., former United States Senator and former United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development; Wes Moore, CEO, Robin Hood Foundation; and Jeffrey Rosen, President and Chief Executive Officer, National Constitution Center. |
