Lure Fishing for Giant Snakehead, Fishing in Thailand Bangkok at Pilot 111 |

Welcome to fishing in Bangkok. The aim of this channel is to help show foreign anglers the many options around Bangkok for fishing.
I am lucky enough to live in Bangkok and have been to visit many of the smaller less well-known lakes available within a 1-2-hour drive of the downtown. So, if you’re interested in Fishing around Bangkok and you don’t want to break the bank please like and subscribe so you don’t miss the next adventure. In this video we fished at a lake named Pilot 111 or in google maps its Pilot fishing pool. There are 10 small lakes here and they are all heavily stocked with a variety of predatory fish that will hit lures. I am not a lure fisherman and don’t recall ever getting a fish on a lure before my trip to Pilot. I don’t think I am going to be focusing on lure fishing I prefer my bait fishing but having said that I would not hesitate to go back to Pilot in the future as you don’t need to be a good lure fisherman to produce fish here. This lake is a good option if you are in Bangkok as its only about 1 hour from the city center. Is stocked with a good variety of predatory fish including Giant snakehead, Chaophraya catfish, Sea bass / Barramundi, Pacu, Asian redtails and feather back / Knife fish. You are not allowed to bait fish here. Lures only. There is a nice little restaurant in the middle. The food was spot on. They also sell lures, but I was surprised at the price. As I said I am not a lure fisherman, but I am looking at these lures and they look the same as the ones I got from my local tackle shop before I went. I payed anywhere from 50-120B a lure but at the Pilot shop they start at 300b a lure. Possibly they are much better, but I would be buying my lures outside. The lake is very open. I guess this is, so the fly fishermen don’t have any problems with the cast. Bring a good hat and some sunscreen. You are going to need it as you are cooking there in the mid-day sun. The lakes are dug from a flat field and have very little features in them There is a small hotel there if you want to stay at the lake. It’s a row of rooms right on the edge of the main middle lake. I got talking to a guy who was staying there and he explained if you stay you can fish all night after the park has closed in any of the lakes you choose and he seems to think at night its easer to catch as the fish know in the day the fishermen are around. 500b per rod Lures are available but seem expensive to me. They had a rack of rods there so I am guessing you can rent a rod if you need to, but I forgot to ask how much. Give them a call if you want to know more. Location of Lake (13.5487080, 100.9481419) Check out Richards Google pages with information about more fishing lakes around Bangkok. https://www.sites.google.com/view/tha...
