OR... How to Raise Equity for a Large Deal? When I first transitioned from residential to commercial investing I didn't know how to raise equity so I started asking around. Almost everyone I asked didn't want to share their secrets! It seemed insurmountable to get into the good old boys club. That frustrated me beyond belief. As a house flipper, I knew how to obtain hard money loans but I didn't know how to find an equity partner to raise the Equity portion for a larger commercial deal. It turns out I was not alone. The number one question I get asked from students and clients is "How do I actually structure a partnership with someone so I can buy a property using someone else's money?" How are they structured legally, and how does the cash get divided between the partners and what if there is disagreement?
