Sacramento County officials say the number of positive COVID-19 cases inside its two facilities continues to rise. As of Tuesday, there are a reported 94 active cases within the facilities: 27 in the main jail and 67 at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center. The new numbers come on less than a week after a 76-year-old inmate died from complications due to COVID-19. "I just want to make sure that it is going to be addressed thoroughly when we receive the COVID-19 update later today," said Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna.
