For Web2.0 success metrics largely relied on measures of engagement. It stands to reason that metrics concerning levels of immersion, presence, and embodiment will help to guide what it means to measure success for the spatial web, metaverse and all spectrums of reality. Standard measures of engagement will surely still be relevant, but what are the qualities that make immersive media, well… immersive?

Our eclectic panel of both doctoral psychologists, artists, and innovators will explore the meaning of immersion, presence, and embodiment and what it takes to create experiences that manifest these qualities. We’ll dive into creating immersion across the spectrum of XR and in what circumstances varying levels of immersive qualities are desirable, appropriate and even possible.
