The North Carolina Tar Heels will play 32 regular season games in the upcoming season (including 12 non-conference games, rather than 11), thanks to an NCAA rulebook exception allowing teams to play one extra game against an NCAA member institution in Hawai’I or Alaska. In that instance the game does not count against the team’s maximum number of allowed games for the season. This extra game will be a great opportunity for more experience between the Tar Heels.

Phil Steele named three Tar Heels to one of his Preseason All-America teams. Omarion Hampton made the first team while Bryson Nesbit and Kaimon Rucker each made fourth team.

Ethan Strand will run in the 1,500m Team USA qualifying final Monday night.
