Smart investment decisions can help you hedge against inflation. In episode three, Gary Ralston outlines how investing in real estate can actually be beneficial in an inflationary market. Inflation serves as “the gradual loss of purchasing power” for goods and services that affects consumers and businesses across the economy. In his analysis, Gary provides multiple examples of how inflation affects our market. In contrast, inflation has proven to be positive for the commercial real estate market and investing in real estate is a great way to hedge against inflation. “More people is more demand for real estate.” Pay attention to areas where population growth is exceeding that of the national average, as that is where real estate will actually outperform inflation in a meaningful way.
