When my brother came back from Ukraine | My Brother surprised my Mom | Russia-Ukraine War #shorts |

I know this video and my caption would not do justice to what actually every student and their families have faced who was stuck in Ukraine.
This a short emotional story of my elder brother Aamir who just returned from war-torn Ukraine. Getting home was not easy for Aamir bhai and other Indian students and especially their families. On the evening of February 25, one day after Russian troops entered Ukraine, my brother and his friends left Vinnystia for Romania which is approximately 400 kms on a private bus they had hired for the trip. They reached the Romania border around in the morning, only to find a 15 km line of vehicles desperate to leave the country. They had no choice but to cover the remaining distance on foot. Many students threw away some of their luggage to be able to make the journey. They walked on foot in bone-chilling cold and somehow reached the border which was crowded with other 2500-3000 students. But crossing into Romania was not easy, with thousands camped there. They waited for 13 hours standing in queues on their foot to cross. My brother spent one night at the border in sub-zero temperatures before he was allowed to cross the border. (Many students waited for 2-3 days on borders with no food and water) After making it to Romania, things weren't still not easy. He had to take a bus to Bucharest which was approximately 500 kms away from border. Finally, he reached Shelter room in Bucharest the next morning. The struggle was still not over, he had to run between his shelter room (6kms away from the airport) and the Indian embassy just to make sure he gets a flight to home. After running for 36 hours, he finally got his ticket, travelled all the way from Romania to Bahraich and reached around 3 in the morning. And decided to surprise my mom. Jo ki aap sab ne video me dekh liya hai. :) This journey wasn’t easy for my brother and other students, although I am very much relieved now since he has reached home safely. But, I still get goosebumps whenever I share his story with people.
