In our society and across the world, addictions are common and recurring from sex addiction to alcohol addiction, etc. However, for the most part, these people have no criminal behavior. If they did, our world would be full of only jails. They live normal lives, trying to manage their secret addiction with their daily activities. At times, the addiction blows up because their lives gets out of control, usually not due to criminal behavior though.

Only a very small percentage of addicts actually commit crimes. Understanding the difference between addiction and the criminal mind is what Dr. Weiss covers in this video.
