While fans are still mourning the tragic loss of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, rapper 2 Chainz is paying homage to the NBA star with new tattoos.The 42-year-old rapper (real name Tauheed Epps) showed off two new pics of the ink, done on both of his legs.He also thanked the Cultural Image Tattoo shop in Los Angeles for doing the incredibly intricate work. 'Thank you @tat2nene,' 2 Chainz said in his Instagram post, adding the hashtags #24 #longlivebean, referring to Bryant's middle name Bean.The rapper's photo featured him pulling up his Los Angeles Lakers short to showcase a large 2 on the inside of one knee, and a large 4 on the inside of the other. 24 is one of the numbers Bryant wore throughout his illustrious 20-year NBA career, all with the Los Angeles Lakers. 2 Chainz is a basketball player himself, playing the sport in high school while growing up in College Park, Georgia.He attended Alabama State University on a scholarship and played on the basketball team for two years from 1995 to 1997.He then transferred to Virginia State University where he graduated from, before starting his music career. After finding success with his music career, 2 Chainz continued his connection with the game as a team owner.It was announced in May 2019 that 2 Chainz has acquired a minority ownership stake in the College Park Skyhawks, the NBA's G League affiliate team.The rapper is also getting ready to release his new album No Face No Case, a compilation album through his imprint The Real University. No Face No Case is 2 Chainz's sixth studio album, following his last, Rap Or Go To the League, which dropped in March 2019.The rapper has also launched a line of hoodies dubbed CEO Millionaires or Create Every Opportunity Millionaires, and sweaters called Dabbing Sweaters.The Real University announced a partnership deal with Atlantic Records in October 2019. |
