The May edition of "County Magazine" begins with a segment on the county's strategy for confronting climate change through its Resilient Fairfax plan, which aims to ensure that the county thrives despite climate change. The Resilient Fairfax plan includes 48 strategies across four categories to guide the county through the climate crisis. The categories are integrated action planning, climate-ready communities, resilient infrastructure and buildings, and adaptive environments. This "County Magazine" also covered the county's commitment to affordable housing with a feature on the Fairfax Housing Symposium, which brings community partners, elected officials, and advocacy groups together to advance the county's goal of bringing affordable housing to every community in Fairfax County. Also highlighted is a segment on how businesses can work with the county through the Fairfax County Procurement and Material Management Department, which provides opportunities for vendors to bid on contracts and supply goods and services to the county. Finally, "County Magazine" provided information and a demonstration with our Fire and Rescue Department on how to save a life with hands-only CPR.
