Iran's state TV aired parts of a documentary on a helicopter crash that killed their President Ebrahim Raisi, the foreign minister and six others on May 19. The video shows late President Ebrahim Raisi and others saying prayers before boarding a helicopter that later crashed and was found the next day in the mountains near the border with Azerbaijan. Iran is investigating the cause of the crash, but has not fout any sign of the helicopter having been shot. The chopper crash happened with Raisi and his entourage were returning from a ceremony for an opening of a dam on Iran's border with Azerbaijan.
The death of Raisi comes at a difficult time for the country and nearly eight months into Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza that has sent tensions soaring throughout the Middle East and brought a decades long shadow war between Israel and Iran out into the open.
