There's always some debate about who has the best TV channels - the USA or the UK. Well whoever your preference is, there's little doubt that the BBC has a truly fantastic media site in the BBC iPlayer. You can stream any of it's 15 channels live and then access most of the programmes for 12 months from the archive too. You can even download from the site to watch off line on any of your devices.

It's easily as good as many full cable packages and it's absolutely free. Unfortunately to access this treasure trove you need one specific thing - a UK IP address. If you connect from the US or any other country you will just get blocked.
