Mazda have dropped a bombshell today, revealing a new strategy featuring five new SUVs, but they aren’t ready to kill off the CX-5 and CX-8.

A new CX-50 is only for America, will share a platform with the CX-30 and won’t come to Australia.

However, the new CX-60 has been locked in for Australia today and will launch in 2022.

CX-70, CX-80 and CX-90 models are under active consideration. All are designed to compete with German luxury SUVs.

Six-cylinder engines, RWD, PHEVs, petrol and diesel all feature on the agenda along with a new MX-30 rotary range extender.
